Single notes
Build a reliable reference for pitch, register, and tone colour.
Music dictation, made focused
Tinxie is a music dictation and ear-training app for students, teachers, and independent learners. Six practice types, a built-in piano, and a calm interface that keeps the work on the sound.
Tinxie is currently in development. One-time purchase planned for Google Play and the App Store.
What you can practice
Start with a single note, then move to groups, intervals, chords, rhythm, and melody. Each exercise is generated locally and played with a piano sound, so practice stays quick and quiet.
Build a reliable reference for pitch, register, and tone colour.
Hold three or five notes in mind and hear how they relate.
Identify the distance between two notes played together.
Recognise chord quality and structure by ear, not by formula alone.
Feel the pulse, read the pattern, and check what you wrote.
Combine pitch and rhythm into a phrase you can hear and remember.
A practice room, not a feed
Tinxie is designed for short, deliberate sessions: listen, answer, check, repeat. The app runs the exercise locally, keeps a record of your work, and stays out of the way.
For students and teachers
Use it between lessons, before an exam, or as a daily warm-up. Teachers can recommend a simple routine without asking students to manage a complicated setup.
